Coastal Georgia Gun Club

Membership Requirements
Sponsor and Membership Help

1) You must have a sponsor that is a current member of the club.
The purpose of a sponsor is to be sure that you can handle a weapon safely and you are required
to have been to the range with them before the application is approved.

2) You must be an NRA member. If you are not a member at the time of application it is recommended that you join the NRA
at the meeting so we will have a record of it as it takes several weeks for the NRA to process the application
and that will hold up your membership application to the gun club.
You may join or renew your NRA membership online with a credit card, Join NRA Here

3) Fill out the application and sign it. Be sure your sponsor signs it.

4) Fill out the waiver and sign it, the application WILL NOT be accepted without the waiver.

5)You must have a current Georgia Firearms License or a Firearms / Concealed Carry License from any state that GA.
has a reciprocal agreement with. If you do not have a Firearms License then you must have a background check done
by your local Police. You will be responsible for any charges incurred for either the Firearms License or the background check.
A copy of your Firearms License or a copy of the results of the background check must be submitted
with the application, your application will not be accepted without it.

6) You and your sponsor will present the application along with dues and initiation fee payment at the next regular club meeting.
At the meeting you will be asked to introduce yourself and answer questions (if any)
that may be asked pertaining to why you would like to be a member.

7) The following month the sponsor will come to the meeting without the applicant, and a vote will be taken.
If the applicant is accepted they will become a full member once they have met the requirements for a Senior Member
and have attended a range orientation.

8) The new member range safety orientation is done on the work day at the range.
If you cannot attend the range orientation at that time you will need to contact the Range Officer
for alternate scheduling or wait until the following month.

9) ALL new member applicants agree to serve on a one year range work committee that is organized and supervised
by the Range Officer, you will be given a work assignment and schedule after your membership is approved.
